Vacation Tips

You’re all packed up and ready to go on that family vacation. Now how are we going to take care of our teeth?

Help Kids Take Care of Their Teeth On Vacation

Are you going on a vacation? If so, here are some tips on how to care for your family’s teeth while you are away from home.

  1. Be sure to pack your toothbrush, toothpaste and dental floss. Many drug stores sell toothbrush caps that will protect the head of your toothbrush when you pack it in your luggage.

  2. If you are going camping, be sure to bring an extra bottle or two of water (to rinse your mouth) in the event that you do not have access to potable water.

  3. If you are travelling out of Canada, be sure to check your travel insurance. Does it include dental emergencies? Some of our patients have had accidents while out of Canada, and the cost was even more terrifying than the actual emergency.

  4. In the event that you do encounter a dental emergency while on vacation, do not hesitate to call our office and we will do our best to provide counsel on the most appropriate course of action. Dr. Perusini knows a good number of pediatric dentists across Canada, and may even be able to connect you with one of his colleagues.
